The USA Gymnastics Xcel program was developed as an alternative competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience. The program allows a wide choice in skills to meet requirements so selection may be based on an individual athlete's strengths.

Bronze - Silver

• Beginning levels of Xcel
• These levels provide structured routines for gymnasts previously mastered skills.
• Gymnasts will be education and experienced in USAG competitions.
• Practices are structured to continue the individuals strength to advance new skills.

Gold - Platinum - Diamond

• These levels provide creativity through routine development.  Allowing for individual strength of gymnast in competition.
• These advanced levels require increased training times to allow for development of difficult skills.

• Proceeding State Championships there is an additional competitive experience: Xcel Regionals.  It is comprised of the tops Region 4 gymnasts from the following states Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin.
